Partnership with Native Americans (PWNA) is a non-profit organization that has been supporting the Native American communities in various parts of the country. Since its inception in 1991, the organization has been playing a critical role in supporting communities with diverse services that promote their culture and overall socioeconomic well-being. According to Green & Chenarides (2020), PWNA started in the state of Virginia before relocating to Rapid City in South Dakota. The organization has been operating in various parts of the country, particularly the areas with the most number of Native Americans. The organization has approximately 40,000 distribution centers across the country, which helps with reaching the communities easily. PWNA uses gift-in-kind (GIK) products, which distinguishes it from other charity organizations. The GIK programs enable the company to support its partners and promote its connection with donors willing to support the program nationwide. The organization helps the impoverished communities of the Native Americans by providing them with diverse services and products to support their social and economic well-being. Apart from offering direct support, the organization provides capacity-building services that are centered on equipping the community with vital skills for healthy living. The service touches on selecting healthy diets, and proper cooking methods. Other practices introduced by the organization include agricultural activities, the use of greenhouses, and community gardens. PWNA partners with donors to fund more than $30 million annually offered to the communities in aid that benefits more than a quarter of Native Americans.

The handbook is meant for volunteers and other employees working in the PWNA. With the information and knowledge gathered from the book, the volunteers and employees will understand how to relate and engage with each other. This communication handbook is vital for volunteers and employees to understand how to relate and connect with the members of the community and exhibit a high level of cultural competence. To understand the communication, it is important to first understand our structure, and understand the services we render to the communities. Familiarizing with our programs is the first step of understanding how to communicate effectively, and establish good relationships with the target communities. The handbook will help the volunteers to understand how to relate with other volunteers. The volunteers are also the main employees of the organizations because they will have a direct role in the engagement with their members of the community (Green & Chenarides, 2020). As a volunteer, you will not only relate with the community, but also engage with fellow volunteers to establish a plan and programs. To support the members of the community. In this regard, the handbook will help you to understand how to relate with employees and also work together to establish cordial relationship with the members of the Native American communities. The handbook puts the priority on the volunteers working in the communities directly with the Native Americans..................................
